The IB Diploma asks more of a student than any other school-leaving qualification in Britain: six subjects across the disciplines, three at Higher Level, plus the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and a portfolio of Internal Assessments — all landing in the same May exam session. Its difficulty is structural: nothing can be dropped, so one struggling subject taxes all the others.
